Hey! Caffeine is your nudge to help you craft a business and life as unique as you. I’m David, nice to meet you.
People online will constantly tell you about optimizing your life for maximum performance.
But is the purpose of life getting as much as you possibly can, done? The problem with modern productivity is, productivity...for what? To what aim?
What is the meaning of getting more accomplished if what you're getting accomplished doesn't have a ton of meaning?
In the beginning, the vague fear of failure or competitive success drives you. But once you do truly “get productive,” you’re able to see past this as a mirage.
Also, as Richard Koch teaches us in the 80/20 principle, more can be achieved from doing less. So more isn’t a very valuable gauge for productivity, nor is it one for life.
Meaning, however, is a bit more difficult to find. Meaning is personal. Productivity is for something else, but meaningful experiences have value regardless of a future result.
Might it be that 20% of our work produces 80% of the meaning, too?
As always, let me know how I can help,
xx David
